*Virtual sessions for TDWG interest and task groups*
Interest and task groups are the driving force for developing and
maintaining TDWG standards, and participation is the essential factor that
gives TDWG standards authority in open science. As the biodiversity
informatics community grows every year, we hold virtual introductory
working sessions to:
-
inform the wider biodiversity information community about the on-going
work to develop and maintain standards;
-
review progress to date;
-
engage new contributors; and
-
set the agenda for this year’s work.
Schedule and registration
The TDWG community spans the globe, which makes scheduling any single
real-time event inconvenient for some people. Some groups will solve this
problem by holding their “session” twice -- once for each hemisphere
(East/West) -- increasing the likelihood that one will be less
inconvenient. We will also record each session and post the videos as
quickly as possible on TDWG’s YouTube channel.
All sessions will be held in the two weeks between 14 - 25 April.
Registration is free, but you must register to receive the Zoom link.
An overview calendar for each week is below. Please visit the *main
working sessions page*

details, including: links to the group charters, the session time in your
local time zone, and the links to register.
