Greetings All,

 From iDigBio: You are invited to this year’s *Biodiversity Digitization 
Conference (BioDigiCon 2022)* 
<https://www.idigbio.org/content/biodigicon-2022>, an all-virtual event 
scheduled for *27-29 September 2022*.

Although the agenda is still in progress, this year’s conference will 
feature:

  * a session focused on data quality issues and solutions organized by
    leaders from the world’s major aggregators, including GBIF, iDigBio,
    ALA, and CRIA,
  * a 4-part series comparing and contrasting leading collections and
    data management systems (Arctos, Emu, Specify, and Symbiota) with
    time for your questions, and
  * several lightning rounds featuring digitization tools and techniques.

Also included will be extended sessions on

  * image and data storage,
  * digitization workflows using Symbiota software,
  * issues related to the Digital Extended Specimen,
  * methods dealing with biocultural issues and the use of Traditional
    Knowledge (TK) labels,
  * an exploration of digitization sustainability strategies at the
    institutional level,
  * consideration of current collaborations between GBIF, ALA, and
    iDigBio for aligning pipelines benefiting data mobilization, and
  * reports from major digitization projects funded by the U.S National
    Science Foundation.

*Lightning Talk Space is Limited: *

We have issued an open call for 10-minute lightning round talks focused 
on novel or successful digitization techniques, data mobilization 
strategies, tools, protocols, workflows, and the like. These rounds are 
filling fast.
