Hi Hilmar,
Just a quick answer right now to point you to rdf for the DwC (similar
to Dublin Core's rdf) that has just begun the review process as a TDWG
Standard.

This is a preview, but I suspect it will not change too much. I'd call
your attention to the Sample class as the nearest thing to a Specimen
(because it would also be an Observation). Rendered documentation can
