The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is seeking a paleobiology informatics specialist. Duties

  • Develops, designs, implements and maintains sustainable and extensible database-driven web applications.
  • Assists research staff in implementing digital collaboration with colleagues outside the Museum and will support a facility for two-way sharing of research data.
  • Establishes and oversees a georeferencing program to georeference Paleo and historical United States Geologic Survey collecting localities according to best practices and established standards.
  • Researches and reviews the applicability of new information technologies and processes that improve the efficiency and productivity of Department digitization and research programs.
