Steve is correct, the Download links for Tapir point to the LSID applicability statement, not the Tapir specification on both:
http://www.tdwg.org/standards/ and http://www.tdwg.org/standards/449/
Having waited nearly a year for the Annotations Interest Group's charter to get posted on the TDWG Activities page (and it still hasn't shown up), it is abundantly clear that the current TDWG infrastructure has serious maintenance issues, of which this is just another example.

Steve,
I don't know where you've got that link. The link to the current specification is:
http://www.tdwg.org/activities/tapir/specification/
And the link to the XML schema is:
http://rs.tdwg.org/tapir/1.0/schema/tdwg_tapir.xsd
Both seem to be working fine.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

Renato
The downloadable version of the TAPIR standard http://www.tdwg.org/standards/449/ is missing. If you click the "download" link, you get the GUID/LSID applicability statement instead. This is really pretty bad because it means that the "official" standard is not available to the public.
- Can somebody fix this?
- Until it gets fixed, can somebody send me a copy of the archive
for the standard or direct me to an alternative download location?
Thanks, Steve
