I second this idea. Google code has been more versatile for wiki's, browsing, searching and using the svn as a whole.

Couldn't we just move this code to Google Code?
If I recall, the problem is that the SourceForge site was set up as a Word Press blog (OMG), so when SourceForge changes their hosting things break.
We could probably get http://code.google.com/p/lsid/ (but whoever has the username and password for the original lsid SourceForge cite would need to set it up because Google won't create a project with the same name as one on SourceForge unless the SourceForge project owner agrees).
The other name would be /lsids, for which I assume someone in TDWG has the username/password combination?
I guess this also means moving the code from one Subversion repository to another one, but I guess that's straightforward.
Note that the code can still be accessed at http://sourceforge.net/projects/lsids/

Rod

Hi Ben,
As far as I am aware... Mysql and custom Typ03 stuff.
Thank you very much for the offer for help. Kevin has dumped the mysql DB, and we will get you access to the SVN which has the PHP code.
Surely one of us with software development skills could take a look at the code to see where the problem is
It's all just time Ben - if you have some spare it'd be really appreciated!
Cheers, Tim

Do you know what language the software is developed in, or where to browse the source code? Surely one of us with software development skills could take a look at the code to see where the problem is? I'd be happy to try and help for PHP and Java (and perhaps Perl) software.

This is the same problem that has been there since Source Forge updated their site to a new version, probably nearly a year ago now. Ricardo was hoping to fix this by moving the lsids.sourceforge.net location to a tdwg server, but I never heard back how far he had got - he is distracted by his new job.
Not sure if we have anyone working no this, but it needs fixing.

Hi All,
Gail Kampmeier just called my attention to the fact that http://lsids.sourceforge.net/ is not resolving properly (results in an error: "Cannot find configuration. This file is probably executed from the wrong location." -- whatever the hell that means). Is it now necessary to link to http://sourceforge.net/projects/lsid/ instead?
The reason this came up is that, following an earlier (and still extant?) TDWG recommendation/best practices, I include the orange "LSID" icon next to the LSIDs as displaye don the human-readible ZooBank pages. For example:
http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:1C82C4FB-C439-4423-BBB0-75FAEA15 7AC2
Immediately to the right of the LSID you'll see the icon. I made this icon a link to the sourceforge site (which I guess I should now change to http://sourceforge.net/projects/lsid/). Is this still an appropriate use of, and link for, the icon? Should the link do something else (like return RDF)?
Thoughts, insights welcome!
