There are quite a few materials of an introductory nature at  http://www.tdwg.org/about-tdwg/resources-for-outreach/. This includes brochures, PPT presentations (including Gail’s), primers, posters that John mentioned, and some neat videos. Most if not all are non-technical.  There is also a ‘getting started’ section of the web site at http://www.tdwg.org/getting-started/.

Maybe it would be good BTW to add your presentation to these resource pages?
