Dear all Following the meeting yesterday we now have a draft abstract for a MIDS session proposal at the TDWG Living Data Conference 2025. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oZCRI79jSQUAsBCBoKop7rVXHSENb-85n_g_oVSZ... Please have a look at the abstract and add comments or use track changes. If you are interested in co-chairing the session please e-mail Cat (Cat Chapman cchapman@flmnh.ufl.edu<mailto:cchapman@flmnh.ufl.edu>) and myself, particularly if you are planning to attend in person. I will be submitting the proposal at about 19:00 UTC - if you need a little more time please let me know. Thanks for all the work you have been doing on the development of MIDS over the years - it's been making rapid progress recently and has already been used by collections in their digitisation programmes. I would strongly encourage you all to try out the latest version of Mathias's MIDS Calculator. He has recently completed an installer which can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ioRhHIvdYI88yoPTsYLG_k5-8n-05CiP and the documentation can be found here: https://github.com/AgentschapPlantentuinMeise/MIDSCalculator Best wishes Elspeth From: Elspeth Haston Sent: 12 February 2025 14:44 To: tdwg-mids@lists.tdwg.org Subject: TDWG Living Data Conference 2025 Dear all There has been an extension to the deadline for proposals for sessions at the TDWG Living Data Conference 2025, giving us an opportunity to submit a proposal for a MIDS session. Please let myself and Cat know if you would be interested in co-chairing this session. We will be meeting tomorrow so you can also let us know then. This would be a good chance to present a range of talks looking at the broad application of MIDS, including the use of MIDS in planning digitisation programmes, the implementation of MIDS calculators in monitoring digitisation progress and to prioritise data enhancement, and how it can be used in funding proposals. Hope to see you at the meeting tomorrow at 15:00 UTC.
