Dear task group, Since we are in Easter week and many people are home with kids or preparing for some days off I suggest we cancel today's meeting. On our table there are still some things to do but we can discuss them over email: - External communication and socialization: - make progress on the paper - oververview can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/171Blq1BDza_psrIQtBH-USIBzRuJAz-KQ4vS-xYn... - advance on documentation, - Kate, would you like to share your advances? - Any ideas for TDWG 2024? other conferences? News on ESA? BES? - advance on sharing the promised datasets to finish the Task Group - Wesley and Zach already shared their datasets as csv with great documentation - Ani, any news on your dataset? - John, is it possible to have the GBIF IPT updated with eco: terms so we can share these datasets using it? Hope everybody is doing great! All the best! Steve and I have finished updating Humboldt to a) include the ecoiri: term
equivalents as appropriate, b) update the corresponding eco: terms to include references to their ecoiri: equivalents, c) remove the comments recommending to the unit ontology as we find it unusable as it currently stands, d) integrated the Humboldt documents on tdwg.org with the Darwin Core menu system so one can navigate seamlessly between Darwin Core and its extensions, e) updated the XML extension definition for the IPT, and f) requested GBIF to move the Humboldt Extension into production so that it can be used in production versions of the IPT. I think, with all of this behind us, we have done everything needed for Humboldt Extension until which time it is ready to evolve. Cheers to all for an effective and successful Task Group!
Hi John & Steve, Many thanks for all the work! Look forward to working with you again (soon, I hope), Ani On 29/03/2024 19:33, John Wieczorek wrote:

Thank you John!! Indeed, it was a very successful Task Group!! One question, do you think we can already close the Task Group even if we have not delivered the 7 datasets mapped to Humboldt extension? Ani is having a hard time with her very complex dataset. So, if it is not truly needed, maybe we can share the Field Museum and the eBird dataset as csv (already done by Zach and Wesley) and the MOL and Antarctic datasets via IPT (already done by Kate and Ming). What do you think? Yani On Fri, Mar 29, 2024 at 7:33 PM John Wieczorek <gtuco.btuco@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Yani, I expect the Executive Committee would be fine with that. They should be able to tell you, and close the Task Group as successfully completed. Cheers, John On Wed, Apr 10, 2024 at 8:34 AM Yanina Sica <yanina.sica@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Yani & John, Just to say that I will finish mapping the compilation dataset example over the next few weeks, so it can be made available alongside the others eventually. But it would be great if the temporary absence of my dataset doesn't hold up the whole process. It was perhaps unwise to choose a dataset with 7 different methodologies and targetTaxonomicScopes... as my first attempt at a DwC-A. I live and learn. I shall miss meeting you all every week! Hi all, I've been a bit overloaded this last week leading up to my holidays that I managed to miss this message.. About the user guide: I am not nearly as far along as I'd like. I've got the structure down and am working to populate all the sections cohesively. It 'should' come together fairly quickly once I'm back in office and have the time to just sit down and write. Apologies for the delays. Cheers, Kate On Wed, Mar 27, 2024 at 10:01 AM Yanina Sica <yanina.sica@gmail.com> wrote:
