Hi all,

We just had a very nice meeting with great discussions around documentation, ecological data aggregation and HC terms and definitions. Please see our meeting notes here.

I just wanted to highlight an idea that came out of this conversation about creating a subgroup that will work on developing a paper on good practices (potential workflow) around ecological data aggregation and sharing. As John nicely put it “Humboldt Core in Practice: A Journey through Ecological Data Sharing”.
Personally I am very interested in this idea as a way to document and share the challenges and lessons learnt about the process of implementing the HC. So please reach out if you are interested and we can start a new subgroup!

Regarding Controlled Vocabularies. Steven invited all who are interested to the Audubon Core Views Controlled Vocabularies Task Group that is meeting today (reach out to Steven if you want to join).

Also, regarding Terms and Definitions, keep and eye on the HC git hub repo as we are submitting issues to get some feedback on certain terms.

Next full meeting: Wed 10 February 2021, 0800 EST

All the best!
