Thank you, John and Wesley for moving this document forward! And thanks Ani for summarizing the key topics discussed at the end of last week's meeting and keeping us on track!
Hopefully John is able to finish his part by tomorrow (I already saw many edits from him) so we should be able to discuss it in our meeting.

Since we are talking about absences in this doc, I wonder if we should share it with the working group on absences as well.
Thank everyone for the tremendous effort you are all putting into these final steps! What an amazing group of colleagues you are!
See you tomorrow.

Hi folks,
Wesley has kindly provided the framework for the updated ideas with respect to event hierarchies (see below). Thanks bunches Wesley! I will take over from there as soon as I finish one higher priority on my plate.
Cheers,
John

Hi John,
I have just finished adding/editing text in the "hierarchical Events" document (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r_XMEgB7p7OI7a5Ouq6G9oa7LmQFPcFhZZCLD9gW...) based on my understanding of the discussion during the last 30 minutes of last Wednesday's meeting. I assume that I was supposed to create new content in the sections before the normative text in Section 3, rather than to work on the usage guidelines in Section 3. So, I have tried add/edit text in Sections 1 and 2 in a way that I hope explains the rationale for the usage guidelines. I assume that Section 3 will also need to be altered to some extent in light of what we discussed last week.
I have added new text (there is a new Section 1.4, and parts of Section 2 are completely new). However, I think that the starting text by Yanina contained important ideas, and to the extent that I felt able, I have modified Yanina's text to fit within a somewhat different framework.
Yanina (or John) could you forward this message, or at least news that I am done to the Humbolt Extension listserv so that other folks will know that there is no material? However, I am assuming that now John should work with this starting material before anyone else dives into it.
Apologies for not finishing on Friday, but it is amazing how a 2-hour meeting strategically placed near the start of a day can disrupt any attempts to do heavy editing during the rest of one's day...
Wesley
