New term needs resolution: yearOfPublication

Open Issues: Determine if there is a demand for this term. Though the term is well-described in the issue tracker, there is no evidence of a real-world need for it. There has to be a demonstrated need from more than one "independent" source for a term to enter into consideration for addition to the Darwin Core.
I second this request. In the absence of a widely accepted nomenclatural standard, DwC is and should be used for basic exchange of nomenclatural information. I consider yearOfPublication important in this respect.

Thanks Greg! Can I second that heartily? It is VERY important to have yearofpublication for reasons that may not be apparent now, but will be as soon as the PhyloCode hits the shelves (next year). So thanks for including that.

I have something similar that I use for stating the year the species was described.
This is useful for sorting by year etc. So +1
