Dear metadata roundtable members,
Tomorrow, July 25th, Richard Urban will be leading MDRT discussion on draft standard for International Standard Collection Identifiers (ISCI), which will establish a unique identifier for each archival collection and fond. You can access the draft at http://www.niso.org/pdfs/ISO_NP_27730ISCIandWD.pdf.
The meeting will take place from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at ISRL Commons on the third floor of GSLIS building.
The continuation of the DCMI abstract model discussion started last week (audio available at http://waterfall.lis.uiuc.edu/dl/ classes/mdrt/metadataRoundtable071807.ram)is tentatively scheduled for the second half of August, once everyone is back from summer vacations.

Hi Markus,
Yes, this was mentioned in the early days of the RAVNS group as something to keep an eye on and it is good to see that it is still alive. The ex-RSLP standard being developed as DC:Collections is also approaching approval and is mentioned in the "Relevant dcouments ... " box.
NCD should consider recommending use of the ISCI.
