These regions are defined using dimensions of space, time, and frequency and enable users to refer to particular parts of the media resource that are associated with occurrences of individual organisms.
This proposal has been developed by the Maintenance Group through a series of meetings over the past year that examined existing approaches and solicited input from the community. The Maintenance Group now considers the proposal mature enough to move into the public review phase as described in section 3.3 of the Vocabulary Maintenance Specification (http://rs.tdwg.org/vms/doc/specification/#33-changes-to-vocabulary-termshttps://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Frs.tdwg.org%2Fvms%2Fdoc%2Fspecification%2F%2333-changes-to-vocabulary-terms&data=04%7C01%7Csteve.baskauf%40vanderbilt.edu%7C9ae929ffd18e4e468f2808d9364ca672%7Cba5a7f39e3be4ab3b45067fa80faecad%7C0%7C0%7C637600525103598157%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=YHHOhtRkU0N7y%2FJneoD%2BFwmAnWn1yeJKiHvUl%2FB7y7I%3D&reserved=0).
