[tdwg-content] Proposed new Darwin Core terms - abundance, abundanceAsPercent

Dear all,

two questions/comments from someone who has relatively recently started
to look into DarwinCore.

1. I find it a bit confusing, that, apparently "abundance" is allowed to
contain percentage values, when there is a separate "abundanceAsPercent"
term defined. Why do you need both, then?
2. If the term "abundanceAsPercent" is used, why is it
necessary/desirable to include "%" as part of the value? That
information is given already in the meta data (i.e. term definition),
why replicate it on the data level?

Yours,

Birgitta
